Game 139: Red Sox vs. Tigers

New, comments

I don't know about you all, but for my money there is no more frightening team in the game than the Detroit Tigers. They pitch, they hit, and if they're a disaster in the field on the whole, they've got some guy named Jose Iglesias now who will do his damnedest to make up for the cardboard cutout who is usually to his left.

Usually.

But not today. And yes, those Tigers do get somewhat less scary when they're missing basball's best hitter.

Still, with or without Cabrera, this is a good team, and a big hurdle for the Red Sox. Luckily they've built themselves enough of a cushion over the weekend that this series will certainly not sink them, no matter the outcome, but it would be nice to take at least one or two games, particularly given their injury circumstances.

Go Sox!
