Red Sox minor lines: Trey Ball succeeds, Salem goes crazy

The upper levels were disappointing, but Salem went nuts and Trey Ball actually performed! Hooray!

Portland W 4-2

Box Score

Deven Marrero: 1-4, BB
Garin Cecchini: 0-3, BB, 2 K
Michael Almanzar: 1-5, HR, K
Christian Vazquez: 0-4, BB, K
Travis Shaw: 0-1, 3 BB, POCS

Henry Owens: 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 7 BB, 3 K

Where did that come from? Owens hadn't exactly been stingy with the walks, allowing six in 15 innings of work, but this is insane. Perhaps even crazier is the one earned run. Henry Owens is nigh-invulnerable, even when he's not.

Salem W 10-3

Box Score

Henry Ramos: 2-4, 2 2B, K
Keury De La Cruz: 3-5, 2 2B, BB
Blake Swihart: 2-4, 2 2B, BB
Mookie Betts: 4-5, 2B, K
Cody Koback: 0-5

And after some mediocre performances, it's Salem which comes through with the impressive night for just about everyone involved. Mookie Betts is now almost to the point where he's been better post-promotion, of all things. Just an excellent breakout year for the infielder with the fantastic name.

Greenville L 3-7

Kendrick Perkins: 0-4, 4 K
Jose VInicio: 0-4, 2 K

Lowell W 6-1

Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-4, K, SB
Manuel Margot: 3-5, 2B, CS, A

Jamie Callahan: 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K

One way or another, Callahan continues to succeed.

Successful Trey Ball outing! Party in Fort Myers!
