David Ross made his first rehab appearance while some of Boston's top prospects put up big performances.

Pawtucket L 4-5

Box Score

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 0-4, BB, 2 K
Xander Bogaerts: 1-5, 2 K, E
Will Middlebrooks: 1-4, 2 K
Alex Hassan: 2-4, 2 K

Anthony Ranaudo: 5 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Anthony Ranaudo enjoys the time-honored tradition of a fantastic debut, and sub-par follow-up. Neither hugely surprising nor, really, terribly disappointing.

Portland W 9-7

Box Score

Garin Cecchini: 0-3, 2 BB, K
Christian Vazquez: 1-5, 2 K
Travis Shaw: 1-4, BB

Henry Owens: 4 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, 1 HR
Noe Ramirez: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

Henry Owens enjoys the time-honored tradition of a fantastic debut, followed by an impressive-if-inefficient follow-up. No, wait, something's wrong there...

Seriously, though, he's striking out almost every other batter ten innings into the hardest jump to make in the minors. This is nuts.

Salem W 10-4

Box Score

Henry Ramos: 2-6, 2 2B, 2 K
Deven Marrero: 2-4, BB, K, SB
Keury De La Cruz: 0-4, BB, 3 K, SB
Blake Swihart: 0-4
Mookie Betts: 1-2, HR, 2 BB, SB
Cody Koback: 1-3, 2 BB, SB

Mike Augliera: 6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 1 K

Augliera's efficacy seems to come and go with his strikeouts, which is a little odd given that he's a ground ball guy with a pretty strong infield defense behind him. Then again, four runs in six isn't exactly a disaster.

Greenville W 14-1

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 4-5, 2 2B, HR, BB, K
Kendrick Perkins: 2-5, 2 K

Justin Haley: 7 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 9 K, 1 HR

With nine in his last 29 innings, Justin Haley may be getting his walk numbers under control here. With 102 in 102 innings, his strikeout numbers certainly need no help.

Lowell L 4-5

Box Score

Forrestt Allday: 0-4, BB, 2 K
Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-4, BB, K, E

Corey Littrell: 2.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K
Mike Adams: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 1 HR

GCL Red Sox W 3-2

Box Score

Jordon Austin: 0-4, BB, 3 K
Jon Denney: 1-3
Nick Longhi: 1-4, K

Trey Ball: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K

Guess it's time to try Trey Ball in the outfield.

Disclaimer: It is not time to try Trey Ball in the outfield.

8/10

Pawtucket W 3-1

Box Score

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 2-4, 2B, HR, BB
Xander Bogaerts: 1-5, K, E
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-3, BB, 2 K, 2 SB

Allen Webster: 5.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K

Hello inside fastball. Goodbye inside fastball. Seems like good news for Jackie Bradley Jr.

Portland L 6-9

Box Score

Garin Cecchini: 1-4, BB, K
David Ross: 0-2
Travis Shaw: 0-1, 2 BB
Christian Vazquez: 2-5
Michael Almanzar: 2-4, K, SB

Just nice to see David Ross playing baseball again.

Salem L 2-3

Box Score

Henry Ramos: 1-4, 2 K
Deven Marrero: 0-3, BB, K
Keury De La Cruz: 1-4, 2B, K
Mookie Betts: 2-4

Mookie Betts struggled a bit post-promotion, but he's on an eight-game hitting streak with a nice .323/.432/.452 line in August.

Greenville W 7-3

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 1-4, 2B, BB, 2 K

Lowell L 0-1

Box Score

Forrestt Allday: 1-4
Tzu-Wei Lin: 0-3, K
Williams Jerez: 0-3, K

Ty Buttrey: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Just the second time Buttrey has struck out three more than he's walked. But the results have been there all the same.

GCL Red Sox W 4-2

Jordon Austin: 1-4, 2B
Nick Longhi: 1-2, 2B, BB, K
