Starting Pitcher -- Jered Weaver
For all that we've come to love Shane Victorino for throwing himself all over the place in pursuit of a win, he sure does miss quite a few games. It's the old hamstring that's bothering him again, leaving the Red Sox with the ugly defensive combination of Mike Carp in left and Daniel Nava in right.
Hopefully that won't hurt John Lackey too much as he tries to take on his old team. If it does, though, the Red Sox won't be completely without hope. For all that Jered Weaver is still a reasonable starting pitcher, he's really not what he once was. The strikeouts are diminished, the fly balls as readily available as ever. While losing Shane Victorino isn't a good thing, this is a lineup more likely to make good on those fly balls. So here's hoping.
