Hopefully this is a breakout performance for Mike Augliera. He's been putting up a fair few solid performances, but nothing on this level in any facet of the game, despite the fact that he was billed as a great K:BB guy.

At this point we realize that the whole system clearly used up its hits in the previous day's explosion, leaving relatively little left for today.

Now that Jon Denney (and, for that matter, Austin) are playing, the GCL seems worth paying attention to. Denney, the exciting catching prospect the Sox were lucky enough to have fall to them in the third round, started off his Red Sox career with an event not at all befitting of a catcher: a steal of home. Admittedly, it came as part of a double steal, but hey, it's still something.

Austin, Boston's athletic sixth-round pick, has been playing for a few games already. Thanks to an early propensity for walks, he's hitting a very silly .286/.545/.286.
