Red Sox minor lines: Hits start falling for Xander Bogaerts

After a rough streak of bad luck, Xander Bogaerts has finally started to see hits fall in again.

USA TODAY Sports

Pawtucket L 5-6

Box Score

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 1-5, K
Will Middlebrooks: 2-4, 2B, HR, BB
Xander Bogaerts: 3-3, 2 2B, BB
Brock Holt: 1-3

Yesterday we mentioned that Xander Bogaerts was having some BABIP woes. A 3-for-3 day will certainly help that. The ol' OPS is up towards .870 now, and there's really not much reason to expect it to go anywhere but up.

Portland L 1-2

Box Score

Garin Cecchini: 2-4
Michael Almanzar: 0-4, K
Christian Vazquez: 0-2, BB, K
Travis Shaw: 1-3, HR, K

Matt Barnes: 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K

Barnes has finally started showing his stuff again in his last two outings. He's gonna have to run the table to make his season as a whole look good, but it's nice to see the old signs of excellence from one of Boston's top pitching prospects.

Salem L 3-5

Box Score

Henry ramos: 0-4, K
Keury De La Cruz: 2-4, 3B
Blake Swihart: 2-4
Mookie Betts: 0-3, BB
Cody Koback: 1-4, 2 K

Blake Swihart could certainly use one of his hot streaks again. Two encouraging games suggest one of those might be on the way.

Greenville W 5-4 (In 12)

Box Score

Austin Maddox: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K
