Red Sox vs. Rays lineups: Jacoby Ellsbury's day off

Jacoby Ellsbury will have the day off Tuesday as the Red Sox try to hold onto their division lead against the Rays.

Jacoby Ellsbury will get a rare day off Tuesday night as the Red Sox take on the Rays with first place in the American League East on the line.

Boston Red Sox (60-41)

  1. Shane Victorino, CF
  2. Daniel Nava, RF
  3. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  4. David Ortiz, DH
  5. Mike Napoli, 1B
  6. Mike Carp, LF
  7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
  8. Stephen Drew, SS
  9. Jose Iglesias, 3B

Starting Pitcher -- Jon Lester

Tampa Bay Rays (59-41)

  1. Desmond Jennings, CF
  2. Ben Zobrist, 2B
  3. Evan Longoria, 3B
  4. Wil Myers, RF
  5. Matt Joyce, DH
  6. Yunel Escobar, SS
  7. James Loney, 1B
  8. Jose Molina, C
  9. Sean Rodriguez, LF

Starting Pitcher -- The artist formerly known as Fausto Carmona

While the Red Sox were held scoreless last night, there's not much chance of a repeat performance from the Rays. Roberto Hernandez, as he is now known, has only once kept the opposing team off the board, and has allowed three-or-more runs in 14 of his 18 starts this season.

Of course, a three-run outing is better than what we've come to expect from Jon Lester of late. Two of his last three outings headed into the All-Star Break at least showed some promise, but until he actually performs in the second half, there's going to be some serious worry before any of his starts. That's especially true tonight, with the division lead on the line.
