Deep in the darkest corners of Boston, there lurks--
Oh, wait, Aceves already went today. Game two then.
The bullpen is wiped, and I'm pretty sure many of you are as well. I know I am. But however bad the combination of Felix Doubront and a tired bullpen is, and however bad having Jonny Gomes in against a right feels--
Oh, right, the lineup:
- Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
- Shane Victorino, RF
- Dustin Pedroia, 2B
- David Ortiz, DH
- Daniel Nava, 1B
- Jonny Gomes, LF
- Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
- Stephen Drew, SS
- Jose Iglesias, 3B
Like I was saying, having Jonny Gomes in the lineup against a right-handed Jake Odorizzi seems pretty bad. But based on his first few performances this season, Odorizzi might not be ready for the majors just yet. Here's hoping--nothing like a big league to spare the bullpen.
Yes, I realize how that statement can be twisted about.
Go Sox!
