This season series really hasn't been going well. No doubt about that. But if it's ever going to turn around, this has to be the game, right? As much as John Lackey's last start was concerning, on the whole he's still having a very good year. And Freddy Garcia? Sure he shut the Nationals down. But come on, it pretty much feels like it should've been his last year for a decade now.

Unfortunately there are few guarantees in baseball, and the outcome of any given game is certainly not amongst what few there are. Especially when your team has just gone something like three-for-a-million looking for all the world like the Yankees at the plate.

I'll admit, I really just wanted to use the Yankees as a negative point for comparison.
