So...there's some rain going on in the Baltimore area. Big, game-endangering rain.
If, however, the rain permits, we will have Red Sox vs. Orioles, and Jose Iglesias won't be starting.
Now, John Farrell said Iglesias needed just two days a week. But right now it is surprising to see him getting this much of the short end of the rotation stick. This will make three-of-four games started by Drew and Middlebrooks.
Perhaps the idea is to get this all sorted out as soon as possible? Give Will Middlebrooks a chance to start hitting, and if either he or Stephen Drew fails convincingly, make the switch to Iglesias semi-permanent, rather than dancing around the issue for the rest of the season. Otherwise, it's surprising to see Farrell go so far away from the hot hand.
