Red Sox minor lines: Xander Bogaerts, Blake Swihart own May

Blake Swihart has found his bat, Xander Bogaerts has found his power. Things are good down on the farm.

USA TODAY Sports

Pawtucket W 9-8 (In 12)

Box Score

Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-5, BB, 2 K, SB
Ryan Lavarnway: 1-6
Bryce Brentz: 1-6, 2 K
Brock Holt: 2-4, 2 BB

Chris Hernandez: 6 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K

Brock Holt has shown absolutely no power this year, but that's not kept him off base, at least in May. A .439 OBP this past month has boosted his season total over .350.

Portland W 7-3

Box Score

Xander Bogaerts: 1-3, HR, 2 BB
Michael Almanzar: 1-4, 2B
Christian Vazquez: 0-2, 2 BB

While we may have been getting a little antsy to see Xander Bogaerts start clubbing homers, now that he has, those first six weeks of discipline, discipline, discipline look pretty ideal. If he keeps this up, he's going to be hitting the very top of prospect lists before long.

Salem W 3-2

Box Score

Deven Marrero: 2-4, 2 K
Garin Cecchini: 1-4, K
Keury De La Cruz: 1-3, BB
Brandon Jacobs: 2-4, K
Blake Swihart: 1-2, 2 BB, SB, POCS
Henry Ramos: 1-3, BB, CS
David Renfroe: 1-3, K

Henry Owens: 6 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K
Noe Ramirez: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 K

Cecchini has stolen the show in Salem, but we can't overlook the supporting cast either. Blake Swihart is starting to look like the first-round pick that was expected, hitting .324/.420/.471 in May. He still hasn't left the yard, but he was always supposed to develop power later in his development. If he does add that, we'll have the total package.

Greenville L 2-3 (In 12)

Box Score

Mookie Betts: 2-4, 2 2B, BB
Jose Vinicio: 1-5, BB, 2 K, E
Cody Koback: 1-6, 2B

Austin Maddox: 5 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

Mookie Betts really doesn't have much left to prove down here. The Sox should move him up before Greenville infects him.
