There's not much to be said here. After last night's game, we just kind of need to see the Sox compete. No Rangers blowout, no Lackey disaster, but an honest to God baseball game. Or a Red Sox blowout, but hey, let's not get greedy.
There are, unfortunately, no guarantees. No guarantee that Ogando won't pitch a two-hit shutout. No guarantee that Lackey won't surrender 10 runs. Unfortunately, those two outcomes do seem a bit more likely than the opposite, but Lackey has at least made it so we don't have to assume every start of his is going to be an unmitigated disaster. Not yet, at least.
Avoid the blowout, keep it competitive, and ideally leave with a win.
Go Red Sox!
