Red Sox minor lines: A down day on the farm

The Red Sox won in Philadelphia, but the rest of the organization didn't do nearly so well.

Liz Condo-US PRESSWIRE

While the big Sox were having one heck of a night against the Phillies, the boys down in the minors were busy getting swept.

Pawtucket L 2-3 (In 10)

Box Score

Ran Lavarnway: 1-4
Bryce Brentz: 1-4, 2B, 2 K
Jeremy Hazlebaker: 1-4
Brock Holt: 1-4, K

Alex Wilson: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Solidarity being shown amongst the hitters, none of whom took that extra step to get on base twice. Though Brentz did take an extra base on his one hit. Gotta watch that one. Between his guns and his nonconformity, he could be trouble.

Portland L 2-7

Box Score

Xander Bogaerts: 1-2, 2B, E
Michael Almanzar: 1-3, BB, K
Kolbrin Vitek: 0-4, K, CS

Drake Britton: 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K

Bogaerts' error was the only one by Portland last night, so take those four unearned runs for Britton with a handful of salt.

Salem L 3-7

Box Score

Deven Marrero: 1-3, BB, E
Garin Cecchini: 2-4, K
Keury De La Cruz: 2-4, 2B, K, CS
Brandon Jacobs: 0-3, BB, K
Henry Ramos: 0-4, 2 K
David Renfroe: 1-3, 2B, BB, K

Mike Augliera: 6 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 HR

Even on a slow day Garin Cecchini collects his two hits. Really nothing much left to prove down in Salem.

Greenville L 8-9

Box Score

Mookie Betts: 1-4, 2B, BB
Cody Koback: 2-2, BB, CS
Jose Vinicio: 1-4, 2B, K, CS, E

Brian Johnson: 4 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Yunior Ortega: 3 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 1 HR

They should take some of Mookie Betts' blood and see if they can't find a serum to give to their pitchers to stave off the Greenville Sickness.
