Red Sox minor lines: Xander Bogaerts, Anthony Ranaudo dominant in Portland

Anthony Ranaudo and Xander Bogaerts both enjoyed the best night of their seasons in Portland.

USA TODAY Sports

Pawtucket W 8-2

Box Score

Bryce Brentz: 2-4, HR, BB
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 2-4, 2B, K
Brock Holt: 2-4, POCS

That's an eight-game hitting streak for Brentz, with three homers dotted throughout. He's been quietly productive, if not exceptionally so.

Portland W 9-1

Box Score

Xander Bogaerts: 3-4, 2B, 2 HR, BB
Michael Almanzar: 3-4
Travis Shaw: 0-5, 4 K
Christian Vazquez: 0-3, BB
Kolbrin Vitek: 1-3, 2B, BB, 2 K

Anthony Ranaudo: 7 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K

Between Bogaerts at the plate and Ranaudo on the mound, that's about as dominant a pair of performances as you'll find. The former doubled his homer total in one night--the one part of his game that had really been a disappointment so far this season--while the latter topped all his other outings to date in what has been a spectacular year so far.

And then there's Travis Shaw going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts while the rest of the team feasts. Oh dear.

Salem L 8-9

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 1-4, K
Deven Marrero: 2-4, BB
Garin Cecchini: 2-5
Keury De La Cruz: 2-5
Brandon Jacobs: 3-6, 2B, K
Blake Swihart: 3-4, 2B, BB
Henry Ramos: 1-4, K
David Renfroe: 1-4, HR, K

Swihart continues to step on the gas, Garin Cecchini continues to coast along at a ridiculous established pace.

Greenville W 5-1

Box Score

Mookie Betts: 1-4, 2B
Cody Koback: 1-4
Jose Vinicio: 0-3

Justin Haley: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 3 K

You'll take this from Greenville.
