50 already? But the year is flying by.
Round numbers are nice. Easy to work with, easy to comprehend. If the Red Sox win today, their record will stand at 30-20, which seems like a nice place to be at. Not quite as nice as we might have hoped heading into the month, but one cannot complain about a .600 winning percentage (good for 97 wins over the course of the season, for the record).
To get there, all they need to do is win a Jon Lester - Scott Kazmir matchup. It's not the sort of game that should put fear in the hearts of fans, but the Red Sox have lost a few games that seemed like gimmes of late. Hopefully that doesn't continue today.
Go Sox!
