The last time the Red Sox faced the Indians, they made them look like a second-tier team, sweeping them in their home park by a combined score of 19-8, and dropping them to 5-8.
Things have changed. Terry Francona has gotten the players in order, and while the Red Sox were struggling through the early days of May, the Indians were starting the month on a 10-2 run. They've slowed down a bit in their last week, sandwiching five straight wins between four losses. Which, of course, puts them on perfectly even footing with the Red Sox over their last 10 games.
The Red Sox failed their last major test against the Rangers, and it set them into a tailspin. Hopefully they can change the story against these division leaders.
