Red Sox minor lines: The wild Allen Webster

Allen Webster continues to struggle with control since his ill-fated second major league start.

Jim Rogash

Pawtucket W 11-3

Box Score

Jackie Bradley Jr.: 1-4, BB
Bryce Brentz: 1-5, K
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-3, BB, 2 K, SB
Jose Iglesias: 0-3, K
Brock Holt: 1-3, 2B, 2 K

Allen Webster: 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 7 K

Nine walks in ten innings for Webster. He's able to survive that in Triple-A, but it won't fly in the majors, that's for sure.

Portland L 5-8

Box Score

Xander Bogaerts: 2-5, 2B, K
Travis Shaw: 1-3, BB, K
Michael Almanzar: 1-3
Christian Vazquez: 2-4
Kolbrin Vitek: 0-4, 2 K

Drake Britton: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

Salem L 4-6

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 1-4, 2 K, SB
Garin Cecchini: 1-3
Brandon Jacobs: 0-4, K
Blake Swihart: 1-3
Henry Ramos: 1-4, K

Mike Augliera: 5 IP, 10 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K
Noe Ramirez: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K

The downside of Augliera's "balls in play" approach rears its head. The results, however, are still not too bad, which seems to be his hallmark .

Greenville L 7-9

Box Score

Mookie Betts: 2-4, 2B, BB, E
Jose Vinicio: 2-4, 2 2B, K, CS

Austin Maddox: 4.2 IP, 9 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 2 HR
Justin Haley: 3.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 HR

Justin Haley's six strikeouts feel like the only positive pitching occurence for the Drive so far this month. It's not, but it feels like it.
