Red Sox minor lines: Daniel Bard is done

It's time to call it: Daniel Bard is cooked, and there's no reason to expect he'll ever be his old self in Boston.

Jamie Squire

Pawtucket L 4-6

Box Score

Bryce Brentz: 2-3, BB
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 1-4, 2 K, SB
Brock Holt: 1-3, BB, K, E

Jose Iglesias misses another game! Can we assume he killed Gary DiSarcina's dog?

Portland L 4-5

Box Score

Xander Bogaerts: 1-5
Travis Shaw: 0-3, BB, 3 K
Michael Almanzar: 1-4, 2B, K
Kolbrin Vitek: 1-4, 2 K
Christian Vazquez: 2-3, BB, K

Daniel Bard: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 5 BB, 0 K

Everyone in Portland seems to be stagnating slightly right now, though none worse than Kolbrin Vitek, whose Jason Place clock may well run down any day now.

And then there's Daniel Bard...Frankly, I think it's time to call this one. Maybe Bard finds his miracle, but he no longer seems worth watching and hoping for.

Salem W 5-4

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 0-3, BB, 2 K
Deven Marrero: 0-4
Keury De La Cruz: 2-4, 2B, K
Brandon Jacobs: 1-4, SB
David Renfroe: 1-3, 3B
Blake Swihart: 1-4
Henry Ramos: 2-4, K

Sean Coyle has zero hits in his last 26 at bats. Let that sink in. 0-for-26!

Greenville L 1-8

Box Score

Cody Koback: 0-4
Jose Vinicio: 2-3

Brian Johnson: 3.1 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 3 K

The Greenville contagion spreads to even the team's best pitchers. Abandon ship, or abandon hope.
