Pawtucket W 5-3
Jose Iglesias: 1-2, BB, K
Bryce Brentz: 2-4, E
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 0-3, BB, 3 K, POCS
Brock Holt: 0-3
Allen Webster: 5 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 1 HR
It's not a perfect rebound for Allen Webster, given the walks, but it's certainly good to see that his major league struggles haven't left him in a tailspin down in the minors as well. Makes it all the much easier to get ready for his next call-up.
Portland L 0-3
Xander Bogaerts: 0-4, 2 K
Travis Shaw: 1-4, SB
Michael Almanzar: 0-4, 2 K
Kolbrin Vitek: 0-2, BB, K
Christian Vazquez: 0-3, K
Drake Britton: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 K
Xander Bogaerts has shown some ability to draw walks this year after going about 100 at bats in 2012 with just one. He's also striking out a lot, however, with 35 in about 135 trips to the plate.
Salem W 2-1
Sean Coyle: 0-4, 2 K
Deven Marrero: 0-4, 3 K
Garin Cecchini: 0-2, K
Keury De La Cruz: 1-4, 2B, K
Brandon Jacobs: 1-4, 2B, K
Blake Swihart: 2-3, SB
Henry Ramos: 0-3, K
Mike Augliera: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
Blake Swihart has quietly hit his stride, and is hitting .313/.395/.531 so far in may with 16 strikeouts and 12 walks on the season. The talent is certainly there, it's nice to see it shining through.
Greenville L 8-9
Cody Koback: 2-5, 2B, K
Austin Maddox: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 2 HR
Justin Haley: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
May as well make Austin Maddox the back-end of a piggyback combo. It's the only thing that's worked for him so far.
