Red Sox minor lines: Sean Coyle slumps

After a ridiculous start to the season filled with long balls, Sean Coyle has entered a slump.

USA TODAY Sports

Pawtucket W 14-9

Box Score

Jose Iglesias: 2-6, K
Ryan Lavarnway: 2-5, 2B, BB
Bryce Brentz: 2-5, HR
Jeremy Hazelbaker: 2-4, 2B, K, SB

For scoring 14 runs, the Paw Sox did a remarkable job of spreading out the hits. It's just a shame Jackie Bradley Jr. couldn't be around for this.

Salem Game 1 L 1-4 (In 7)

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 0-4, 3 K
Garin Cecchini: 1-2, 2B, BB
Keury De La Cruz: 1-3, 3B, A
Brandon Jacobs: 0-3, 2 K
David Renfroe: 0-3, 2 K
Blake Swihart: 1-2, BB

Salem Game 2 L 1-2 (In 7)

Box Score

Sean Coyle: 0-4, K
Garin Cecchini: 1-3
Keury De La Cruz: 2-3, HR
Brandon Jacobs: 0-3
David Renfroe: 1-3, K

Mike Augliera: 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K

Sean Coyle now has just one hit in his last four games, which probably amounts to a slump by just about anyone's standards.

Greenville L 3-6

Box Score

Cody koback: 0-4, K
Jose Vinicio: 0-2, BB

Justin Haley: 3.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 6 BB, 3 K
Austin Maddox: 5.1 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K

All it took for Austin Maddox to go from least effective pitcher in the farm system to this was to come out in relief. Probably shouldn't read much into that, but for now it's funny to imagine a starting-length pitcher who comes out in the second inning.
