According to Nick Cafardo, Red Sox bench coach Tim Bogar is a front runner for the Houston managerial position along with Tampa Bay bench coach Dave Martinez:

So there's that. It's no great surprise that Bogar is a finalist for the position since it was reportedly his managerial potential that had the Sox keep him on as third base coach for two awful years. Unfortunately, it seems now that there's a good chance he'll be trying to meet that potential outside of Boston.
If the Sox were to offer him the job in Boston, it seems unlikely that he would head out to Houston to take over a team with rather worse prospects both for the immediate and distant future, but of course that doesn't really seem to be on their agenda given the continued infatuation with John Farrell.
