And so Pedroia stands alone.
After a week-or-so of awful lineups with Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia being the two saving graces, Jacoby Ellsbury is out for today's game with a sore wrist, and all we have left is Pedey.
In fact, Pedey is the only real major league bat left in the lineup at all, unless you're being generous to Mike Aviles and his .296 wOBA. Really, though, it's not offense which the team has lost, but defense. Because with Ellsbury out, Podsednik moves to center, Ciriaco into left, and worst of all, Mauro Gomez hangs out at third.
Oh, sure, Bobby V could just play Aviles there and DH Gomez, but that wouldn't be any fun, would it?
