Game 112

Josh Beckett is back on the mound this afternoon, which makes today a celebratory day of invective!

Nothing seems to get the Red Sox fanbase riled up like Beckett these days. How much of that is because Beckett is actually bad and how much of it is a product of the media's relentless condemnation of him is...debatable. While he's not been the pitcher we all desperately want him to be, Beckett's 4.54 ERA isn't exactly bottom of the barrel. But when combined with stories of beer, chicken, and golf all twisted and magnified by a press corps that takes it personally when he doesn't stick around to talk about how bad he was, well, you get a guy who is booed for leaving a game with injury.
