It's been a long, frustrating start to the season for Adrian Gonzalez--not to mention those watching him. A line of .262/.316/.407 is the sort you'd expect from a shortstop or catcher, never a first baseman, and certainly not one of Gonzalez' level.
But here we are, a few days into June and he still has yet to turn things around.
Despite his bad start, Gonzalez has never moved out of hat core 3-4-5 group of batters, and only dropped down to five for a few big games before being bumped back up. We can only hope that a return to the bottom half will help wake him up.
Otherwise, it's a righty-heavy day, including the return of Darnell McDonald in left field (Daniel Nava finally gets that day off), Marlon Byrd in center, and Will Middlebrooks at third, pushing Adrian out into right as Kevin Youkilis fields first.
