The Sox will be without Dustin Pedroia and Will Middlebrooks Wednesday night as they go for the series win against Ricky Nolasco and the Miami Marlins.
Pedroia's absence is no real surprise after the second baseman aggravated his thumb injury in last night's game. Even if yesterday didn't set him back any, the Sox aren't the sort of team to put him out there again the day after he was pulled from a game.
Will Middlebrooks was also pulled from the game yesterday, but that was just to get Adrian Gonzalez in from the outfield, which seems to be the case today as well. Gonzalez will take over at first, pushing Kevin Youkilis to third while Cody Ross, Ryan Kalish, and Daniel Nava--getting his first start since his hand injury--man the outfield positions.
The Marlins, meanwhile, will shake up their outfield, with Austin Kearns taking over at DH and moving Logan Morrison to left and Justin Ruggiano playing center against the left-handed Felix Doubront.
