The Red Sox got above .500 when Daniel Bard took on Justin Verlander. I tell you this to remind you that stranger things have happened when I say that tonight to stay above .500 they have to win with Clay Buchholz on the mound.

Helping the situation tonight is that Buchholz actually has his best start of the year behind him--a legitimately strong effort against the Tampa Bay Rays--and is up against Henderson Alvarez, whose K/9 is simply unbelievable.
