Game 3: Save Us...Nick Punto?

Can we please not get swept in our opening series again? Please?

I'd really like to avoid that, and with Clay Buchholz on the mound against Max Scherzer, usually I would be feeling like we've got a pretty good shot at it.

But what the hell is this?

Lineup

BOSTON RED SOX DETROIT TIGERS
Nick Punto, 3B Austin Jackson, CF
Jacoby Ellsbury, CF Brennan Boesch, RF
Dustin Pedroia, 2B Miguel Cabrera, 3B
Adrian Gonzalez, 1B Prince Fielder, 1B
David Ortiz, DH Delmon Young, DH
Darnell McDonald, LF Alex Avila, C
Ryan Sweeney, RF Jhonny Peralta, SS
Mike Aviles, SS Andy Dirks, LF
Kelly Shoppach, C Ryan Raburn, 2B

I don't care what happens today. Nick Punto could reach base every time, and Kelly Shoppach could lose a pair over the fence in right, but the process here just isn't right.

Bobby says he wants to see how it looks, Punto at leadoff. Seems like that's the sort of thing that should be gotten out of the way in spring.

Oh well, all we can do is hope now.
