In just a little over 50 hours, the Red Sox will take the field, and Jon Lester will take the mound for the season opener. Hopefully, it will be the beginning of another good season.

As strong as Lester has been throughout the past few years, however, he has yet to reach quite the heights some have hoped for. A fourth place showing in the 2010 Cy Young award is the closest he's gotten to the top of the ladder, and frankly 2011 was a down year in all areas for our lefty ace.

So what will 2012 bring? Is this the year Lester shines through as the best in the league? Will he get back to his 2010 levels? Or was 2011 a sign of early decline?

Knock on so very much wood there.
