Red Sox Minor Lines 4/19: The Middlebrooks Code

Pawtucket W 11-7

Box Score

Che-Hsuan Lin: 1-6, K
Jose Iglesias: 1-5, BB, K
Lars Anderson: 2-5, BB, K
Will Middlebrooks: 2-5, HR
-Two games with homers, two games without, two games with homers. I'm thinking this would be an acceptable pattern to establish.
Alex Hassan: 3-5, 3 2B

Alex Wilson: 3.2 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 1 HR
-Unfortunately just a very hittable day for him, with plenty of long doubles.
Andrew Miller: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 3 K
-The Andrew Miller special.

A solid outing for Bogaerts, who is getting on a solid outing roll after the jump.

Portland L 0-6

Box Score

Kolbrin Vitek: 1-4, 2B, K
Oscar Tejeda: 0-4, K
Juan Carlos Linares: 1-2, 2 BB
Bryce Brentz: 0-4, 3 K
-It's been a very tough time for Brentz early on. Double-A is the big hurdle when it comes to hitting against pitchers with full arsenals, so perhaps it's no surprise.

Salem L 4-10

Box SCore

Jackie Bradley: 2-4, 2 2B, K, SB
-As was mentioned in yesterday's comments, Bradley is looking like a perfect leadoff man early in his career. Great discipline, four stolen bases in 25 trips onto the basepaths. Looking forward to seeing how he does in Portland.
Sean Coyle: 0-3, BB, K
Brandon Jacobs: 1-3, 2 K
Travis Shaw: 4-5, 2B
-All he does is hit. .420 batting average through the first twelve games. BABIP concerns seem legitimate, however, with a K-rate around 15% and no homers to date.
Xander Bogaerts: 2-5, 2B, K
Christian Vazquez: 0-3, 2 BB
Adalberto Ibarra: 1-2, BB, SB

Greenville L 8-9

Box Score

Cody Koback: 2-4, BB
Blake Swihart: 1-5
Garin Cecchini: 3-5, 2B
David Renfroe: 0-5, 3 K
-The first real road bump in the season for a suddenly exciting Renfroe.
Henry Ramos: 1-4, BB
Jose Vinicio: 2-4, K
-Hitting .297/.381/.486 with 5 SB, 6:3 K:BB. Sox have a serious glut of SS-3B prospects.

Madison Younginer: 3 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 2 K
-A major relapse after a decent start to the year.
