Game 140: Mr. Beckett Goes To Canada

The good news today: Josh Beckett is pitching. Not Andrew Miller, not John Lackey, but Josh Beckett.

He's pretty good.

The interesting news today: Kevin Youkilis is hitting fifth, and David Ortiz is in the cleanup spot. Kind of a long time in coming if you ask me, especially against a righty.

The bad news is: We're 2-4 in our last couple of series, which nearly brings the Sox back to that damned .500 mark we'd been floating around for a month. So a series win in a 4-game set? That'd be pretty nice.

But back to the lineup stuff:

Lineup

BOSTON RED SOX TORONTO BLUE JAYS
Jacoby Ellsbury - CF Mike McCoy - SS
Dustin Pedroia - 2B Eric Thames - LF
Adrian Gonzalez - 1B Jose Bautista - RF
David Ortiz - DH Adam Lind - 1B
Kevin Youkilis - 3B Edwin Encarnacion - DH
Carl Crawford - LF Kelly Johnson - 2B
Josh Reddick - RF Brett Lawrie - 3B
Jason Varitek - C Jose Molina - C
Marco Scutaro - SS Dewayne Wise - CF

They'll have an interesting young righty to work against. The fastball - changeup thing gave the Sox some difficulties in 2010, but Ellsbury, Gonzalez, and Crawford are amongst the best at hitting that particular pitch, so hopefully that evens things out nicely.
