Game 146: One To Win One

OK, let's look at this from a different perspective.

This is not a chance for the Sox to implode, making their wild card lead quite vulnerable.

This is a game where the Sox can all but lock up the wild card and, with it, the postseason.

This is an opportunity.

Lineup

BOSTON RED SOX TAMPA BAY RAYS
Jacoby Ellsbury - CF Desmond Jennings - LF
Dustin Pedroia - 2B B.J. Upton - CF
Adrian Gonzalez - 1B Evan Longoria - 3B
David Ortiz - DH Ben Zobrist - 2B
Josh Reddick - RF Johnny Damon - DH
Carl Crawford - LF Sean Rodriguez - SS
Jason Varitek - C Casey Kotchman - 1B
Marco Scutaro - SS Jose Lobaton - C
Mike Aviles - 3B Brandon Guyer - RF

It's unfortunate that Varitek will have to start against a righty, but such is often the reality of day games. But the Sox will make up for that, one hopes, with this man:

Jon Lester

Unfortunately, the Rays have a pretty strong guy on the mound as well.
