Per Jon Morosi, the Red Sox have traded Mike Cameron to the Florida Marlins for a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Quite frankly, receiving anything more than the prorated league minimum salary for the second half of the season is a win for the Red Sox. Cameron had been dismal with the team, providing a -0.8 WAR on the back of a .216 wOBA and at times embarrassing defense.

It's pretty clear that, really, the Marlins are going to come out of this deal with more money than the Red Sox, as it would be entirely surprising if Florida had agreed to pay more than a portion of Cameron's remaining contract. We'll just have to wait for details to emerge to see just how much they took off of our hands.
