Game 101: Nine Innings Or Bust

I ask for one thing tonight: nine innings.

The lineup is a mess. Andrew Miller has been a mess. Danny Duffy is actually on a decent little streak right now. Yes, I'd like a win, but please, if you have to lose Red Sox, just do it in nine innings. And with less tragic ineptitude. That's all I ask.

If you haven't seen it yet, here's the 1-through-9 from Bizzaroland:

  1. Darnell McDonald, CF
  2. Marco Scutaro, SS

Actually, do I need to go any further?

OK, fine.

  1. Darnell McDonald, CF
  2. Marco Scutaro, SS
  3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
  4. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  5. David Ortiz, DH
  6. Carl Crawford, LF
  7. Jason Varitek, C
  8. Josh Reddick, RF
  9. Yamaico Navarro, SS
It'd be nice if Andrew Miller didn't walk six guys tonight. But again, yesterday didn't exactly inspire optimism.

Hopefully Danny Duffy will not take advantage of the relatively weak Sox lineup presented him.

Just, whatever you do, no more torture.
