After defeating the Orioles 15-10 last night, the Boston Red Sox look to clinch the series as they will once again do battle with the O's at Camden Yards. If they win tonight, the Red Sox will have won four games in a row and eight in a row against the Orioles.
On the mound for the Red Sox will be Kyle Weiland, who will look for his first career major league win in just his second start for the Red Sox. Weiland's first start came against the Orioles on July 10, when he gave up six earned runs over four innings of work. Weiland was one of the many players ejected from the game that season, after he plunked Vlad Guerrero. Weiland hopes to have better luck against the O's this time around.
Taking the mound for the home team will be right-hander Jeremy Guthrie, who will be looking for win number four on the season. Guthrie last pitched on July 14, when he gave up six earned runs over five innings of work. Guthrie is a career 1-8 with a 4.45 ERA against the Sox.
The Red Sox lineup will once again experience a shake up. Carl Crawford will be the DH this evening in place of David Ortiz, who is still serving his suspension. Josh Reddick will once again get some playing time, as he will be in left for Crawford this evening. J.D. Drew will be in right field with the right-handed pitcher, batting eighth. Here is the full lineup:
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. Josh Reddick, LF
6. Carl Crawford, DH
