We're a half game back of the division lead heading into the fiftieth game of the year. With the Yankees getting the day off today, the hope is we'll be all tied up (ignoring percentages) when no. 50 is well and done with.
It's another curious lineup today with J.D. Drew and Jed Lowrie out of the lineup. Drew is expected to miss maybe one or two more games, while Lowrie is just getting a typical day off. Drew Sutton will fill in for him, while the newly called-up Josh Reddick will get the opportunity in right. Kevin Youkilis is back in the lineup a day after missing the rubber game in Cleveland with a sore hand.
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. Carl Crawford: LF
7. Drew Sutton, SS
8. Josh Reddick, RF
9. Jason Varitek, C
The Red Sox are hoping for some more miracles from Alfredo Aceves today. And, hopefully, fewer players hit in the face.
And, hopefully, they'll manage to maintain some of their offense from yesterday to use against Max Scherzer.
Go Sox!
