Game 49: Lester, Lester, Don't Let Me Down

It's rubber match time at an unusual hour for the Red Sox and Indians.

Unfortunately, it's not a full lineup today for Boston. Kevin Youkilis has a sore left hand after last night's diving stop in the seventh inning. J.D. Drew is also out with the usual hamstring issues, though it's not serious.

  1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
  2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
  3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
  4. David Ortiz, DH
  5. Jed Lowrie, SS
  6. Carl Crawford, LF
  7. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
  8. Mike Cameron, RF
  9. Drew Sutton, 3B

Well, that's kind of a mess, huh?

Carl Crawford will finally be moved up in the lineup with two regulars out. Not likely to last, but it's nice for now, at least.

Jon Lester is in need of a good start. It's been a while since the last one. We're talking runs, walks, and not a lot of innings to account for them. The last time in town he came up big with seven shutout innings. Of course, the offense gave him nothing to work with, but that's not the point, right?

Mitch Talbot is making his first start in over a month after spending some time on the disabled list. The Sox chased him early last time around, but didn't really do a ton of damage.

It'd be pretty great to leave Cleveland with a series win, so...

Go Sox!
