After last night's 15-5 victory, the Boston Red Sox will look to extend their win streak to eight as they take on the Chicago Cubs in game two of their weekend series. As a part of the historical meaning to this series, the teams will wear throwback jerseys that resemble those worn in in 1918, the last time the two met at Fenway Park.
Due to injuries to the rotation, the Red Sox will start Alfredo Aceves in game two in place of Daisuke Matsuzaka. Aceves has made five career starts with the Yankees, and will make his first start of the season as a member of the Red Sox. Tonight's game will mark the first time that Aceves has ever faced the Cubs, as a starter or reliever.
Meanwhile, the Cubs will send out right-hander Carlos Zambrano to face the Red Sox. Zambrano did not pitch well in his last outing, as he is coming off a loss against the Cincinnati Reds, going five and a third innings while surrendering six earned runs on six hits. In his career, Zambrano has one appearance against the Red Sox with no record and a 7.20 ERA. Here is the lineup that he will face:
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. J.D. Drew, RF
7. Jed Lowrie, SS
8. Carl Crawford, LF
9. Jason Varitek, C
