Game 44: Red Sox Welcome Cubs To Fenway To Begin Historical Interleague Series

The Boston Red Sox will look to extend their win streak to seven tonight as they welcome the Chicago Cubs to town to open up Interleague Play 2011. This will mark the first time in 93 years that the Cubs will visit Fenway Park.

The Red Sox will send out Jon Lester to start game one of this series. In his last matchup against the Yankees, Lester gave up four earned runs on five hits, four walks, and seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Lester pitched well enough in order to get win. In his career, Lester has never faced the Cubs.

The Cubs will counter with veteran left-hander Doug Davis. Davis made his season debut last week against the Giants, where he pitched five innings giving up four hits and only one earned run--but took the loss. Davis is a career 3-2 with a 3.79 ERA against the Red Sox. Here is the lineup that we will pitch to:

1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF

2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B

3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B

4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B

5. David Ortiz, DH

6. Jed Lowrie, SS

7. Mike Cameron, RF

8. Carl Crawford, LF

9. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
