The Boston Red Sox will look to come out of Toronto with a split series as they will take on the Blue Jays in the final game of the two's mini-series.
John Lackey will get the ball for the Red Sox against the Jays. In his last start, Lackey didn't even make it out of the fourth inning against the Angels as he gave up eight earned runs to his former team. We are getting to the point where Red Sox fans would almost rather see Daisuke Matsuzaka or even Tim Wakefield as the starter, instead of their $85 million dollar man. Lackey is a career 4-5 against the Jays with a 4.58 ERA, typical Lackey I guess.
Meanwhile the Blue Jays will send right hander Jesse Litsch to oppose Lackey. Litsch pitched back on April 17th against the Red Sox where he gave up four earned runs on seven hits through six innings. Overall, he is a career 4-3 with a 4.11 ERA against Boston. Here is the lineup the Sox will send out against him:
1. Jacoby Ellsbury, CF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. Adrian Gonzalez, 1B
4. Kevin Youkilis, 3B
5. David Ortiz, DH
6. J.D. Drew, RF
7, Carl Crawford, LF
8. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C
9. Jose Iglesias, SS
You will notice that young Jose Iglesias has found his way into the Boston lineup this evening, Jed Lowrie apparantly isn't feeling too well. Because Iglesias isn't known for his bat, he slides down to ninth and allows Carl Crawford to settle in at the number seven spot tonight.
