Kevin Youkilis' X-rays Negative After Taking Foul Ball Off Shin

Alright everyone, breathe in deep...

And let out a sigh of relief.

According to Ian Browne, Kevin Youkilis' X-rays--taken after the Red Sox slugger fouled a ball hard off his shin in the first inning of Thursday's game, forcing him to leave the game--have come back negative. That means everyone flashing back to the foul ball that ended Dustin Pedroia's season in 2010 can stop worrying.

Still, it's not all roses for Kevin:

"He's sore," said Red Sox manager Terry Francona after Boston's 4-2 victory over the Angels in 11 innings. "He was X-rayed and they were negative, which is good. He'll be re-evaluated tomorrow. He's pretty sore."

While there was some speculation that Yamaico Navarro might be headed to Los Angeles to provide the Red Sox with some infield depth, that might be less likely with Youkilis' injury seemingly being so minor. Still, if he's facing a couple of days off, it might not hurt to have the extra manpower where it's needed.
