Red Sox Community Projections 2011: Josh Beckett

On the one hand, it's Josh Beckett, the man who for the last three years has battled Daisuke Matsuzaka for the title of "most disappointing". On the other hand, it's odd-year Josh Beckett, the man who gives us hope that there's a light at the end of the even-year tunnel.

Unfortunately, Beckett has been partying like it's 2010 in spring training, suffering a number of unfortunate outings, twice at the hands of the Pittsburgh Pirates. His peripherals have been rather better, but that's pretty par for the course for Beckett during his Red Sox tenure (no, let's not get into a long conversation about that again).

Can Beckett rebound? Can he keep the odd-year magic going? Will he ever be referred to as an ace again?
