Sometimes during the season, players get a bit banged up. They're not so injured they can't play so they gut it out, but at less than 100%. Why? Because they're pros. This is what they do. This is what they love. This is where they live. We at the OTM Podcast aren't any different. Sometimes we sprain a finger opening a beer, or get a paper cut, and it stings. A lot. Or, sometimes we get a little thing in our eye and no matter how much we rub it with the back of our hand, we just can't quite get it out. Know what? Doesn't matter. Game time, baby. We gotta do our thing. Tonight is a case in point. Did Marc Normandin feel perfect? Hells no. 98% at best. Maybe 97% Didn't matter though. He showed up to play. How about Matt Kory? Well, actually, Matt was fine. OK, maybe a trace of a head ache. Showed up to play anyway.
As for the podcast, Matt and Marc talked Red Sox off season. Double duh. They discussed the Jed Lowrie/Mark Melancon trade, the Nick Punto signing, and then delved into the meaning of some of the metrics. A warning to the listener: There is some discussion at the end of the podcast of... well, there's no other way to put it. Joe Saunders. So be prepared. Heavy gloves and a paper bag (with air holes!) affixed over the noggin should do the trick. But no matter what you're wearing on your head, any way you slice it, it's another workmanlike episode of the Over The Monster Podcast!
