Felix Doubront Gets the Call for Daisuke's Spot In Rotation

The question of who will start in the place of the injured Daisuke Matsuzaka has been answered: Per Sean McAdamFelix Doubront will be called up from Triple-A Pawtucket to make his major league debut against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday.

Doubront, a 22-year-old lefty, has seen his reputation rise rapidly this year, starting with a successful stint in Major League Spring Training. He continued his success in Double-A Portland, posting a 2.51 ERA in eight starts before getting the call to Pawtucket in May. He has actually seen even better results in Triple-A, allowing only two runs in sixteen innings.

Daisuke was sidelined with a strained forearm just before making his last start on June 12. It's mostly a precautionary matter, and Matsuzaka will likely return as soon as he is eligible.
