Red Sox go for the sweep tonight, but it's not the best of matchups. The underwhelming John Lackey will take on Matt Garza, who has been dominant through the first 2 months of the season.
|2010 - Matt Garza||5-2||9||9||1||0||0||0||64.2||50||18||17||5||20||54||2.37||1.08|
|2010 - John Lackey||4-3||9||9||0||0||0||0||55.0||60||32||31||7||26||34||5.07||1.56|
If those numbers aren't exactly making you comfortable to begin with, how about this: the Rays batters average a .908 OPS again Lackey over his career, with only B.J. Upton and Dioner Navarro coming in under .900. Yikes! Too bad they're not in the lineup.

|Boston Red Sox||Tampa Bay Rays|
|Marco Scutaro - SS||Jason Bartlett - SS|
|Dustin Pedroia - 2B||Carl Crawford - LF|
|David Ortiz - DH||Ben Zobrist - RF|
|Kevin Youkilis - 1B||Evan Longoria - 3B|
|Adrian Beltre - 3B||John Jaso - C|

|Jason Varitek - C||Carlos Pena - 1B|
|Mike Cameron - CF||Sean Rodriguez - CF|
|Darnell McDonald - RF||Reid Brignac - 2B|
Jaso, Rodriguez, and Brignac have no appearances against Lackey, but everyone else absolutely kills him. For the Red Sox, we see a return to the ugly replacement OF of...well, earlier this week, as Jacoby Ellsbury and J.D. Drew are both out.
But, hell, let's steal one from 'em! Lackey owes us a good start, and we owe the Rays a sweep in their house. Let's send those cowbell lovers home unhappy!
