Red Sox go for the sweep tonight, but it's not the best of matchups. The underwhelming John Lackey will take on Matt Garza, who has been dominant through the first 2 months of the season.
If those numbers aren't exactly making you comfortable to begin with, how about this: the Rays batters average a .908 OPS again Lackey over his career, with only B.J. Upton and Dioner Navarro coming in under .900. Yikes! Too bad they're not in the lineup.
Jaso, Rodriguez, and Brignac have no appearances against Lackey, but everyone else absolutely kills him. For the Red Sox, we see a return to the ugly replacement OF of...well, earlier this week, as Jacoby Ellsbury and J.D. Drew are both out.
But, hell, let's steal one from 'em! Lackey owes us a good start, and we owe the Rays a sweep in their house. Let's send those cowbell lovers home unhappy!
