Game 45: Red Sox (23-21) @ Phillies (26-16)

Dear Roy Halladay,

If you want to start sucking, today would be a good day to start. Red Sox fans would appreciate that. We know that's difficult for you, but if you could just look deep -- DEEP! -- into your heart, maybe you'll throw a few meatballs over the heart of the plate and let a few Sox crush 'em, huh?

Sincerely,

A Fan Of A Team That Wants/Needs To Win A Series

On a positive note, at least the Sox have faced Halladay a bunch before. Although Halladay has been a freak in the NL, he's playing a lot of teams that haven't seen him. He's a great pitcher, yes, but the unfamiliarity is a factor, too. With that said, Roy had a 2.79 ERA in four games against the Sox last year.

Here are Roy's stats this year:

W-L G GS CG SHO SV BS IP H R ER HR BB K ERA WHIP
2010 - Roy Halladay 6-2 9 9 4 2 0 0 71.1 65 16 13 2 10 58 1.64 1.05

Tim Wakefield is on the hill for the Red Sox today:
