Game 10, 11: Rays @ Red Sox - April 17, 2010

New, comments

The Sox play two tonight...sort of. After having last night's game suspended due to rain, the Sox and Rays will pick it up in the bottom of the 9th, tied 1-1. David Ortiz will be up to bat with no outs.

The Rays have already used three bullpen pitchers in Grant Balfour, Randy Choate, and Dan Wheeler. The Sox have received scoreless innings from Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon. Thanks to the suspension, the Sox may be able to run Papelbon back out there for another inning if necessary, despite his having thrown 22 pitches in the 9th. Or not! Congratulations to Jonathan and Ashley Papelbon on the birth of their son!

Off the bench, the Red Sox have Mike Lowell, Victor Martinez, and Mike Cameron available to pinch hit.

About half-an-hour after the conclusion of the first game, the teams will start game 2 of the series, with Clay Buchholz taking on James Shields.

Lineups (for yesterday's game) and more after the jump.
