The Red Sox have signed relief pitcher Scott Schoeneweis, who was released by Milwaukee earlier this week. Schoeneweis was a solid option out of the bullpen for the Mets in 2008, but he fell off the map in 2009. He racked up a 7.12 ERA with the Diamondbacks in 24 innings of work. Schoeneweis is -- what else? -- bullpen depth. Will he beat out Joe Nelson, Scott Atchison or Alan Embree for a spot on the roster? No. Just Theo Epstein taking another opportunity to get some depth.
