SPECIAL OFFER: 2 Postgames for the Price of 1!!!

Good News: the Red Sox have been playing well the past few weeks, not losing two consecutive games until yesterday.

Bad News: the Red Sox have now lost two in a row, after being out-pitched by the dessicated corpse of Freddy Garcia and giving Wakefield no run support at all.

On Friday, Paul Byrd thrilled and amazed with his impersonation of major league batting practice pitcher (2.1 innings, 10 hits, 7 runs). Meanwhile, the Red Sox offense scored an astounding 2 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk, as Freddy Garcia, bolts hanging out of his head and electricity coursing down his arms, threw them collectively down a well. Frankly, the less said about this travesty of a game, the better. Final: ChiSox 12, BoSox 2.

Yesterday, Wakefield gave a decent start (6 IP, 4 runs) which, as has often happened the past few years, was completely unsupported by the offense. In fairness, they were shut down by a legitimately good pitcher, Gavin Floyd. Final: ChiSox 5, BoSox 1.

Hopefully Jon "the Jester" Lester can get us out of this funk, and the offense will give him more than 1 or 2 runs. Gamethread in several minutes.
