Red Sox late night links: Teixeira, Kawakami

Yup, 2 a.m. and I have nothing better to do than google news "Red Sox." Here are a couple of interesting things I found:

  • Sean McAdam looks at the pros and cons for Mark Teixeira when decided Anahaiem or Boston. The most important one, in my mind, is the last one: Boston is baseball heaven.
  • Michael Silverman writes the Red Sox apparently made it known they had interest in free agent Kenshin Kawakami on the last day of the winter meetings. Kawakami may also be interested in the Red Sox, considering Boston is home to fellow countrymen Daisuke Matsuzaka and Hideki Okajima. The Red Sox, of course, also have a spot in the rotation available that Kawakami would most likely fill.
  • This may have gone unnoticed, but if Wes Littleton makes the Red Sox's opening day roster, then the Sox will send another prospect to Texas along with Beau Vaughan. I'm not sure Littleton will even make the opening day roster, so don't be too concerned.

And that's all I got. It is 2 a.m. afterall. I'll be traveling most of the day tomorrow, so if the Red Sox sign Mark Teixeira (am I counting my chickens before they hatch?), break the news and hopefully someone can promote it to the front page.

Go Sox!
