Indians lose, Sox have best record in AL

New, comment

Thanks to a Joey Gathright RBI in the 8th inning, the Kansas City Royals beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-3, allowing the Red Sox to clinch the best record in the American League.

The $55 million dollar man Gil Meche pitched 7 strong innings, allowing just two runs while striking out 7. Joakim Soria earned the win after pitching the 8th and 9th without allowing a hit or run and striking out three.

Now it's time for the Red Sox to decide what they want to do: 5 games in 7 days or 5 games in 8 days?
